Is give peace a chance...
How can we justify one killing to atone for another? Does Tookie's good works since his trangressions not count for something? Anything? For his life, to be able to live out his days locked up, rather than electrocuted? I just can't understand it. I know that he began an organization that breeds hate. I know he was convicted of killing 4 people. I realize he has committed numerous crimes. I just cannot agree with a soul being separated from this phase of its development on command of humans who have no way of knowing if they are making the 'right' decision. How do we know? How can we be sure that this is what 'God' wants? I don't think it is. I don't think that we should be the judge of when a person should die. If the Christian right
says God will punish those who kill other humans, how can they take it upon themselves to hurry the process and advocate someone's death? Not saying all Christians believe in the death penalty, that is. I just do not personally agree with Tookie being electrocuted tonight. What about redemption??
