I FINALLY got a gmail invite today. I've been trying for awhile, but have been unsuccessful. Naturally, as soon as I get the invite and begin to register, I discover it's not as wonderful as it's been touted. I'm reading the privacy policy, when I come across some shady language. So I googled the google mail policy, and lo and behold! It's not everything it's cracked up to be. Check it out here:

Are you thinking about getting gmail? I would think twice. I'm probably going to keep an account or two for my "junk mail" purposes, such as when I register for a site. For my regular correspondence, though, I think I'll use a different service. Any suggestions?
Really, when it comes down to it, nothing beats an old-fashioned letter for privacy...and, as Mar-thah would say, for that personal touch!
