Holland Happenings

Well, it's been another eventful weekend. This was 'Holland Happenings' in Oak Harbor which is a celebration of the Dutch settlers who came to this area. So we had a parade on Saturday, arts and crafts booths, and the carnies came to town. I helped out with the Sea Cadets in the parade...We're trying to get more kids to join by passing out flyers -- and the candy helped, I'm sure. I went to the carnival Saturday night and got scared out of my wits. I usually love roller coasters...As long as they're permanently there. But the whole thing about the rides moving around kinda gets to me. The fact that they pick up and go....I mean, those bolts have to come off all the time...Who KNOWS if they put them back on there right! Anyway, I don't know what I was thinking, but I got on the loopty-loo ride. I SWEAR I will NEVER get back on that thing!

I did enjoy the house of mirrors, however. It was hilarious to see ourselves as midgets. What a concept.

So today I went downtown to check out all the arts 'n stuff...They had a guy making wooden shoes. Wooden shoe know it! ;)
