Nausea, Heartburn, Indigestion, Upset Stomach, Diarrhea!

Just found out Pepto can cause you to wake up with a black tongue. Apparently, the bismuth in Pepto-Bismol holds a mixer in your mouth, and when it mingles with trace amounts of sulphur, it reacts creating bismuth sulfide. I'm glad I found this out before it has ever happened to me, b/c I know I'd completely freak out and head off to the emergency room the moment I woke up with a black tongue. Yay, Pepto-BisMOL!

(Go here and put in some diarrhea's with a nausea and an indigestion...VERY funny! http://www.pepto-bismol.com/pepto_dance.shtml) No, I won't grow up, so don't ask.

I found this out by cruising online newsgroups, which frequently leads me to researching all kinds of interesting topics. (You see the line here? Discovery Health to Elephant Man to Black Tongue)...

Something that disturbs me, though, is the rampant ignorance in our society as evidenced by people's postings!! I am truly shocked by what people believe, let alone the fact that (what seems like) over half of the postings are littered with grammatical and spelling errors. Either people are not concerned that this is a reflection of themselves, or they are just illiterate. I am definitely not feeling superior, so don't get me wrong! I make mistakes all the time. I am just suprised that people don't seem to care about how they present themselves through words. Often I don't know the spelling of a word, or how to say something correctly...but I LOOK IT UP! And, yeah, I'll write stuff with errors, but not through neglect. Why don't people use their resources? Proofread the damn thing!

Perhaps with the anonymity of the internet, most don't feel it necessary to expend the energy they normally do when writing, say, a term paper or a report for work. Really, though, I think people just don't care. Period. I think this is probably how they write most of the time. My question: Did they learn this in school (or didn't learn!)? Or did they learn, but they just don't care? What do you think the majority reflects here? Do most struggle through basic English courses in High School, or do they excel and then never use the skills they were taught?

And while I'm in the griping mood, I went to the grocery store last night and bought 4 lbs of strawberries b/c they were almost the same price as the 1 lb box! What's up with that? ;)

Yeah, I had an angel-cake/strawberry/cool whip thingies for supper... (Sorry Mom and Grandma - I'll cook tonight!)

On another note (heavier), didja hear about Hitler's nurse? What a gal. When she was asked if she regrets her part in serving with the Third Reich, she states, "Everyone has their own opinion."

Hmm...I won't say it...
