Well, today was supposed to be a day of catching up...of doing homework. Yeah, I got a little done, that's for sure. I was definitely glad I had the day off. I had to prepare for my labs tomorrow, for one thing. It'll be my first Geography Labs for this semester. I really lucked out this semester, because I've only got one class. By that I mean I only have one class to teach. I have 4 labs this semester, but they'll all be the same class. Last semester I had 3 different labs (5 total). So this semester will be a lot easier.
Anyway, I haven't exactly been just working on getting my syllabi ready. I've been shopping too. I'm so bad!! Ok, I just couldn't help myself. After being out on the trails with my buddies this weekend I was resolved to move on up to a 29" mountain bike. I've been thinking about it for a while now. I honestly felt like I was out of the loop with my measly 26" frame. I've just heard so much of the hype about 29ers, that I had to give in. Plus, I wanted to build my own bike up because I thought it would be fun. I test drove one at my LBS last week, and I was totally sold. I did a lot of online research, and for the price, I found that the Niner RIP 9 was the bike that would be ideal for me. So I bit the bullet and bought a Niner R.I.P. 9 frame tonight. I debated on whether or not I wanted to go with the '08 or '09 frame, as there were some differences. However, for the price I went with the '08 frame, which I feel will still be just as good.
Sweet!! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the world of the two-nine crew! You are going to LOVE those big wheels. I bought a Moots 29er last January and absolutely LOVE it! I'll NEVER go back to 26 inch wheels again. Take my advice and get the best wheel set you can afford.
ReplyDeleteSo when do you get the new rig? I wanna see pics and get a ride report!
