I saw a small flock of birds today out on the back deck. Every so often they'd land, only to take off again, flying next to our boat. I hope they make it. Most birds don't live for very long out here because there's just not a whole bunch of things to eat, unless it comes from our galley. We saw a bat the other day who was extremely exhausted, because we were able to get right next to it in the daylight. I feel bad for all these creatures, but what can you do? Our doc out here feeds them bread and what-not, which I think helps a little.
