I'm in Pryor, OK this week visiting my dad and his wife at their new house. Grandma flew in today, and Dad and I picked her up in Tulsa. I've been enjoying being away from the command for the past few days. Hit a letterbox yesterday off of the old Route 66...and got hit on by an authentic Okie. Tight Wranglers, boots, white T, and a Harley-Davidson-style-American-flag-faded bandana that was probably as old as me.
Oklahoma's weather is a lot hotter than I've gotten used to up in Washington. I do like it though, especially at night. The wind blowing here is so relaxing, and the heat at night makes it really pleasant. It doesn't get as humid here as it does in AL or TX, so I went trail-running on a local nature trail yesterday.
There are Menonites here. I bought a book up in the Blue Ridge Mnts. once while camping called 20 Most Asked Questions About the Menonites, but I never got around to reading it. I need to dig that thing up and check it out. I don't really know the difference between them and the Amish.
